Altar Servers

Altar Servers assist with
various parts of the Mass
such as lighting and
carrying candles, bearing
the processional cross,
bringing the gifts of bread
and wine to the altar,
holding the ritual books,
and ringing the bells.

Buildings & Grounds

Responsible for the care of
parish grounds, buildings &
facilities. This ministry
monitors the condition of
the physical environment
and advises the Finance
and Pastoral Councils of
current facility and grounds
status.

Choir

Choirs are often tasked with
leading the congregation in
singing hymns,
acclamations, and
responses during Mass and
other liturgical celebrations.

Counters Collection

Count and record offertory
and other special
collections after mass.

Finance Committee

The Finance Council serves
as an advisory body to the
pastor, offering guidance
and support on financial
matters.

Eucharistic Ministers

This ministry assists priests
at Mass with the distribution
of the Body and Blood of
our Lord and/or bring Holy
Communion to the sick or
homebound.

Faith Formation

Responsible for religious
education programs in the
parish in order to
increase knowledge of the
faith of all age groups:
adults, youths, & children.

Lectors

In the Catholic Diocese of
Raleigh, a “lector” is a
sacred storyteller who
solemnly proclaims the
stories that give the
community its identity,
similar to the elders of tribal
Israel or the early Christian
evangelists.

Loaves and Fishes

To help the parish meet the
needs of the poor and
oppressed, both among
church members and nonchurch
members.

Morning Star Guild

A community of the faithful
that seeks to deepen their
personal holiness and
devotion to Our Lady, the
Most Blessed Virgin Mary,
through pastoral, spiritual and
theological accompaniment.
Activities include: Barn Sale,
Game Nights, First
Responders Luncheon, and
Angel Tree.

Parish Council

Responsible for promoting
a spirit of unity and
community in the parish. A
group of parishioners who,
under the guidance of the
pastor, work to foster the
parish’s mission through
strategic planning and
serving the community.

Sacristans

Parish sacristans are
responsible for preparing
the altar, church, and
chapel for Mass and other
liturgies, maintaining the
sacristy, and assisting altar
servers, ensuring a smooth
and reverent celebration of
the Eucharist.

Scholarship Committee

Coordinates and raises
money for the yearly parish
scholarship given out each
June.

Ushers/Hospitality

Parish ushers play a vital
role in welcoming
parishioners, assisting with
seating, managing the
offertory, and ensuring a
smooth and welcoming
liturgy, serving as the first
point of contact for those in
need.
